CIVIL AIR
PATROL REPORT
BY GUS
POSADA

On Thursday the 15th, Doug Jones and I met with the
Civil Air Patrol at the cafeteria of the Coral Spring Charter School. Doug helped
out with a wing that needed repairs and glassed the wings of the other two
trainers that they are going to bring out to the field this coming Saturday
March the 3rd. In the meantime I explained the kids about the
transmitter controls and they had a blast with the simulator helped by a
projector which gave them a good perspective of the field.
We are going to need help out in the field to show
them how to set up the planes and to take them up in the air on a Buddy Box.
The volunteers will not need an intro-pilot card since the kids will have their
AMA cards with them.
Everybody is welcome to help out at the meetings which
are held on the third Thursday of the month at the Coral Spring Charter School
which is located at 3205 N University Dr, Coral Springs (MAP).
It is time to
pay forward for what we received from our instructors.

SATURDAY FLIGHT
At around 10 am, the field was full of orange hats
that you could see from far. First of all: technical chat. Jim Perdue
explaining about the frequency board and safety. Then Ray Colleto, Jim,
Jonathan and Bev went through the plane’s setup. We found out that the planes
had been put away with fuel in them so after some fight they were set up right.
The guys had a blast with the planes, they got a
chance to fly some patterns on the buddy box.
Here are a few pics.
