The
MPPA Club has been organized since the early 1990's and has been going
strong ever since, counting today with more than 130 members.
We are a
very
diversified club with pilots that have interests that span the full
spectrum of our hobby. From your average Sport Fliers to World Class
Quarter Midget and Quickie 500 pylon racers, Gliders, Helicopters,
Control-Line, to Jets (both DF and Turbine!), MPPA welcomes all
enthusiasts with open arms.
Our club prides itself on our
members, which we consider to be our most valuable asset. Each of our
members bring a unique and contributing twist to the club at large.
During the year we hold various events from our renowned Quickie 500
races (part of the Sempra Circuit) to our famous "Summer" Night Flies.
MPPA is always striving to make it worth being a MPPA member! We hold
Fun Fly's, BBQ's and special year-end events, which have included boat
cruises and blowout parties.
Whether you're six or sixty, we
truly believe in the youth of our hobby! At Markham Park, you are never
more than a stone's throw away from a fellow member and friend. Even if
you are a novice / beginner, learning about the hobby or learning to
fly is never a problem here. Thru our internal network of
"instructors", flying lessons are always available.
We meet on the fourth Wednesday
of each month, and hold Board meetings four to five times a year. Even
if you are just considering joining, you are always welcome to attend a
meeting. Thanks for visiting our Website and we look forward to seeing

Hancock Memorial
Airfield,
Our Airfield!
As a part of the
Broward County park system, Markham Park
is home to the Joe Hancock
Memorial Airfield, a radio controlled
airplane field, the
Fox Observatory, a dog park, biking and jogging trails, fishing and
boating areas, a tennis and racquetball center, volleyball, a swimming
pool complex with a mist pool, snack bar, lockers and
showers/restrooms.
